In Montenegro, the typical electricity bill for households in March—excluding meters that are not regularly read in non-permanent residences—averages 38.48 euros.

According to the Electric Power Company (EPCG), “Households in Žabljak noted the lowest average bill at 18.28 euros, whereas Tivat recorded the highest with an average of 50.81 euros in electricity consumption last month.”

The company reported that approximately 30 percent of households will receive bills up to 59 euros, another 30 percent will be billed between 50 and 15.01 euros, while 50 percent will see bills ranging from 100 to 18.77 euros. All customers will receive bills exceeding 7.22 euros.

“A total of 176.12 thousand households, representing 43.95 percent of the population in Montenegro, benefited from a discount,” the statement noted.

Additionally, 15.45 thousand households in Pljevlja have been granted a 30 percent discount, a decision made by the Board of Directors aimed at reducing air pollution and recognizing the significance of the energy facilities Rudnik uglja (RUP) and Thermal Power Plant (TE) Pljevlja for the electricity stability of Montenegro.

“All households connected to the EPCG electricity distribution network are eligible for an additional 6.4 percent discount on network services, irrespective of outstanding debts, to offset the increase in network service charges,” the company added.

In March, households consumed a total of 140 million kilowatt hours (kWh) of electricity, marking a decrease of 5.03 percent compared to February, yet an increase of 10.93 percent from March of the previous year.
