What Positive Dialogue Took Place with the Individual Who Used a Sonic Weapon?

The leader of the Freedom and Justice Party, Dragan Đilas, addressed an open letter to European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos, asking her to clarify to the citizens of Serbia how, on the day it was revealed that Aleksandar Vučić employed sonic weapons against his own populace, sending criminals and thugs with the intent to incite violence (which has been substantiated), she was engaged in constructive discussions with him, as reported by N1.

Đilas prompted Commissioner Kos to reveal what constructive dialogue occurred with a man who, as he noted, has faced protests from students, professors, teachers, farmers, and lawyers for months; the same man whose policies drew between three hundred to five hundred thousand people to the streets of Belgrade on Saturday.

“What concrete steps towards European Union membership did you, as you mentioned, discuss with a person who has stolen elections, ranked Serbia among Europe’s three most corrupt nations, and presides over a regime that drives out EU citizens and bars journalists from entering Serbia?” stated Đilas.

He questioned what is precisely pro-European about the fact that Aleksandar Vučić appears over 350 times on national television in a single year, while opposition members are seldom featured.

“Could you clarify how Serbia, where 97 percent of public procurement occurs without tenders, a state drug factory operates, and top government officials meet with notorious criminals, is moving towards Europe?” emphasized Đilas, according to N1.

If crime, corruption, attacks on citizens, blackmail, violence against people, neglecting educators and students, suppressing media freedoms, dehumanizing political adversaries, and misuse of the judicial system are considered European values, then please state this clearly so we are aware, urged the SSP leader.

“If that’s the case, then take Vučić with you because he aligns with these so-called ‘values’. We, who advocate for entirely different principles—freedom, democracy, truth, and justice—find no place in this scenario,” Đilas affirmed.

He expressed anticipation for Commissioner Kos’s reply, as he feels he is left without answers for the people asking about the European Union’s actions towards Serbia, especially in light of everything being said and done by Ursula von der Leyen, Macron, Scholz, and various other EU representatives.
