Atalanta put an end to their three-game losing streak with a crucial victory against Bologna, a direct competitor for the Champions League spots.

The team triumphed 2-0 in Bergamo during the Serie A match, reclaiming third place with a two-point lead over Juventus, while Bologna now finds themselves four points behind.

Mateo Retegi opened the scoring in the 3rd minute, breaking a goal drought for Atalanta, who hadn’t scored in their last three matches.

Mario Pašalić doubled the lead in the 21st minute with an assist from Retegi, and that score held until the final whistle.

A significant contribution came from home goalkeeper Mark Karnezis, who made remarkable saves against Dan Ndoje and Benjamin Dominguez.

Notably, Ndoje had a close-range shot brilliantly stopped, thanks in part to the goalpost.
