Liverpool is on track to secure the Premier League title, taking another significant step at Anfield by defeating West Ham 3-2 in the first round of the Premier League.
With just six matches remaining, Liverpool holds a 13-point advantage over Arsenal.
The Reds went ahead in the 18th minute; the play initiated with Alisson, Salah made a beautiful cross into the box from the right, allowing Diaz to find the net.
Before Liverpool scored, Salah had a close opportunity, and McAllister missed a chance just before halftime.
West Ham posed a threat in the opening half through Mavropanos and Kudus, and they equalized deservedly in the 86th minute with Robertson’s own goal.
Nevertheless, the home team reclaimed the lead, with Van Dijk scoring the second goal in the 89th minute after a corner and a cross from McAllister.
The drama continued as West Ham almost leveled again, with Filkrug hitting the crossbar.
Meanwhile, Chelsea played to a 2-2 draw with Ipswich at Stamford Bridge, a result that may hinder their Champions League aspirations, as they currently sit in fifth place.
Ipswich initially led 2-0 by halftime, thanks to goals from Ensiso and Johnson.
Chelsea salvaged a point with an own goal from Tuanzebe and a strike from Sancho.
Wolverhampton also celebrated a victory, triumphing over Tottenham with a 4-2 scoreline.
Ait-Nouri, Spence (own goal), Larsen, and Kunja were the scorers for Wolves, while Tell and Richarlison netted for Tottenham.
