The Government of Montenegro is focused on empowering municipalities to better address citizen needs and enhance quality of life, utilizing capital projects as a collaborative effort.
The Office of the Prime Minister, Milojko Spajić, indicated that this was determined during a meeting with Tivat municipality leaders.
“In this regard, as agreed in principle, potential concession fees from airports will be allocated for significant new projects in Tivat and Zeta. It was noted during discussions that the tender process, which has been inactive for six years, must first be completed, and afterward, provided there is a favorable offer, all benefits from resolving this critical matter should be seized,” the announcement read.
Spajić’s office mentioned that continued discussions will focus on defining specifics, with the goal of fulfilling local governments’ expectations.
“There is a consensus that funds will be dedicated solely to capital projects vital for enhancing the living standards of residents in both municipalities. The Government of Montenegro plans to convene a meeting on this subject with Zeta municipality leaders shortly,” the statement from Spajić’s cabinet concluded.
