Montenegro’s qualifications for the Futsal Euro 2026 have been disappointing, with four games resulting in four defeats and only four goals scored. Today, the national team will be seeking its first victory.

The opponent is Hungary, and the match is scheduled to take place at the “Verde” hall in Donja Gorica at 6 p.m.

Before the qualifications conclude, the Sveta Ljesara team still faces a match against Norway in Oslo. With Montenegro yet to secure any points and a troubling goal difference of 4:18, the two rivals already have six points each, while Slovenia leads with 12 points. It’s evident that the chances for qualifying for the European Championship are nearly over.

The winner of the group will earn a spot in the continental championship, while the second place may lead to a playoff opportunity.

Nonetheless, Montenegro aims to enhance its performance moving forward.

“We have tough matches ahead as we near the end of the qualifiers, and our immediate focus is the game against Hungary. We’ve done our homework and scouted them thoroughly. We must perform at our best in all aspects of the game to secure a positive result,” stated coach Ljesar.
