Averka Breaks Finger, Cuts Performance Short at World Championship

The Montenegro national water polo team will be without Konstantin Averka for the remainder of the World Championship.

During yesterday’s match against Spain, Averka sustained a fracture to his right finger.

He played the entire game, scoring two goals, but post-match video analysis revealed he had torn the tendon supporting his finger, which will sideline him for a minimum of two and a half months.

In the quarter-finals yesterday, the “Sharks” were defeated by “Fury” with a score of 15:12. Tomorrow (10), they will compete against Greece for placement between 5th and 8th place.
