The Montenegrin government will fund the construction of the Lovćen – Cetinje cable car from the Capital Budget, as announced by Prime Minister Milojko Spajić’s cabinet.
In a meeting between Spajić and Cetinje Mayor Nikola Đurašković, it was highlighted that completing the project will significantly enhance the lives of capital residents.
“The Government of Montenegro is committing 60 million euros to this project. We will allocate additional funds in this year’s Capital Budget to expedite the tender process. We thank the Royal Capital for facilitating the Environmental Impact Assessment. We are establishing the quickest connection between two emblematic sites of Montenegrin history,” emphasized Spajić.
During their discussion, both parties agreed to accelerate the project’s development, with hopes of announcing the tender in the final quarter of this year.
Đurašković expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister for his support, underscoring the project’s significance for Cetinje residents.
“Few infrastructure projects can be as impactful for the Royal Capital, as it has the potential to quickly transform the local economy and effectively utilize our tourism assets—historical heritage and national parks,” stated Đurašković.
It was determined that the establishment of crucial transport infrastructure will enhance Montenegro’s connectivity, making Cetinje a key player in the tourism sector, which it rightfully deserves.
