The journey to Paris began for the hosts at the Ulm tournament, where the German handball team secured a victory over Slovenia (31:25) in the Olympic qualifying round.

This outcome means that the Slovenian women, guided by our esteemed coach Dragan Adžić, will face a crucial match against Montenegro on Sunday in their bid to qualify for the Games, assuming they first triumph over Paraguay.

Adžić’s team battled throughout the match to establish a connection, but Markus Gaugiš’s squad maintained control over the game for the full 60 minutes.

The Germans largely maintained a lead of three to four goals and ultimately finished with a six-goal advantage.

Adžić and his athletes struggled to contain Julija Majdhof, the right back from Ramnka Vlčea, who scored nine times against the Slovenian defense.

Other standout players for Germany included Ksenija Smits with six goals, and both Alina Grijsels and Joana Marija Stockslader contributing four each.

For Slovenia, nearly half of the team’s goals (11) came from Ana Gros, while Nataša Ljepoja netted five times.
