DPM Zogović Holds Meeting with Azerbaijani Company Representatives

After his participation in the 5th International Parliamentary Conference of the Silk Road Group (SRG) under the OSCE PA, themed ‘Bridging Continents: Advancing Sustainable Tourism, Clean Energy, and Ecological Balance for a Resilient Future’—hosted by the Parliament of Montenegro, Deputy Prime Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Milun Zogović welcomed a delegation of representatives from prominent Azerbaijani construction and infrastructure firms.

This meeting offered a platform for significant discussions about investment opportunities in Montenegro’s capital infrastructure projects, as well as mechanisms to facilitate effective collaboration with international partners in the design, construction, and reconstruction of essential transport routes, urban areas, communal infrastructure, and energy facilities.

Deputy Prime Minister Zogović highlighted that Montenegro is open to partnerships with esteemed international firms, especially those that contribute expertise, technology, and experience in executing complex projects.

The dialogue within the Silk Road Group provides a chance to exchange ideas and outline concrete steps towards establishing more efficient connections between Europe and Asia. Issues such as energy efficiency, environmental protection, infrastructure connectivity, regional cooperation and stability, and economic development hold critical importance for our future.

Azerbaijan has been acknowledged as one of the most significant investors in Montenegro, representing not only economic strength but also mutual trust between the two nations. This meeting further affirms the existing friendly relations and paves the way for new avenues of long-term collaboration.

Representatives from the Azerbaijani firms expressed interest in engaging in future infrastructure investments in Montenegro, recognizing the Western Balkans as a region with substantial development potential and connectivity opportunities through initiatives like the Silk Road.

Montenegro’s stable political and economic climate, coupled with the Government’s commitment to strengthening bilateral partnerships, sends a strong message to prospective investors. Infrastructure projects provide a solid basis for enhanced cooperation between companies from both nations in the construction sector. The positive track record of collaboration across various fields lays a strong foundation for the ongoing development of bilateral relations and the realization of joint initiatives and projects, concluded Deputy Prime Minister Zogović.
