Just two days ago, Sonja Simonovska was appointed as the second referee for the semi-final clash between Istanbul’s Vakifbank and Savino del Bene Skandići, held in the impressive Ulker Sports Arena, which seats 13,500 spectators for the Volleyball Champions League final.

Now, the Montenegrin official has swiftly advanced from the semi-finals to serve as the head referee in the grand final!

“Montenegrin referee Sonja Simonovska has attained an exceptional honor—she will officiate as the main referee in the grand final of the Women’s Volleyball Champions League!

In this highly anticipated match, two Italian teams, Conegliano and Skandići, will compete for the European title, promising an exhilarating spectacle. This final match epitomizes the peak of the club season in women’s volleyball, and the confidence bestowed upon Simonovska underscores her enduring professionalism and excellence at the highest level.”

Romanian Paul Katalin Sabo Aleksi will serve as the second referee in the final, as announced by the Volleyball Federation of Montenegro.

The final is set for 18:00 our time, while Vero Volej Milano will face off against VakifBank at 15:00 in the match for third place.
