The President of the Boxing Association of Montenegro, Aleksandar Klemenko, awarded plaques and honors today to those who have made outstanding contributions to another prosperous year in boxing.

After over twenty years, Montenegro has secured a medal in a significant senior competition, with Tomislav-Bato Đinović earning bronze in the lightweight division at the European Championship held in Belgrade. Đinović (BK Zlaticanin) has been recognized as the best senior athlete, while Bojana Gojković, a European silver medalist under 22 and an Olympic Games participant in Paris, is also a senior athlete.

BK Budva shone brightest this year by producing the best junior boxer, Vasilije Kujundžić. Adila Mušović (BK Feniks) claimed the title of best junior, while her clubmate, Ena Hot, excelled as the top schoolgirl. Nikola Raičević was awarded a plaque for his European bronze achievement and recognized as the top schoolboy, while his fellow BK Nikšić member, Miloš Roganović, was the best in the youth category. Ramo Hot, representing Rožaj Universe, was honored as the best pioneer.

Despite his gym being located 37 kilometers from his hometown Bukovica, Ramo has diligently attended every training session over the past year!

The title of best coach in 2024 was awarded to Momčilo Zlaticanin from BK Zlaticanin, while Blažo Jabučanin was recognized as the most successful referee, holding the qualification to officiate in the Olympic boxing program with three stars.

“I hope to see more faces here next year and that we can hand out even more awards and plaques. I am particularly proud of Đinović’s medal; it’s my first as President. Although it’s not for all of Montenegro, I wasn’t in the Federation at that time, but this medal brings me immense pride. I’m also thrilled to see my friends winning medals, having shared many experiences with these athletes, and I am proud to stand beside them,” said Klemenko.

Today, he received another mandate with no questions asked.

“The Boxing Association will advocate solely for the interests of Montenegrin boxers. Our focus will be primarily on competitions sanctioned by the International Olympic Committee, as we remain committed to being a recognized member of the IOC. Admittedly, the current situation is somewhat chaotic, with some missteps at the IBA as well; however, they do conduct the competitions we require. We must be patient and see how the ongoing issues develop,” concluded Klemenko.
