“Streamlining Administration: Ending Political Privileges and Curbing Wastage of Taxpayer Funds”

Our first priority will be reforming the Municipality—streamlining the administration, eliminating political favors, digitizing processes, and reducing wasteful spending of taxpayers’ money. This savings will be redirected to visible and impactful projects—renovating all building facades, enhancing parks and green spaces, creating new job opportunities, and building a modern, clean, and environmentally conscious city in Nikšić, as stated by the voter group “Work for My City.”

They also emphasized the importance of retaining youth, declaring, “A city without young people has no future.”

“We aim to provide young people with opportunities through new jobs, subsidized housing, and improved social life. Nikšić will once again be an attractive city, where people come, not flee from. We propose an airport for budget airlines, sports leagues for children, and rich tourism experiences at Krupac and Slanje Lakes, all part of the revitalized Nikšić,” the announcement read.

“Work for My City” reiterated their commitment to reestablishing local industry.

“Plans include a glass factory serving all of Montenegro, a recycling plant for plastic and paper, production of concrete elements, and a municipal quarry. Our quarry will help reduce construction costs, making apartments accessible to all residents of Nikšić, not just a privileged few. We will create factories that generate employment, income, and protect our environment,” the statement indicated.

They acknowledged the prolonged ecological crisis in Mislov Do.

“The site was closed just months prior to the elections, as if we would forget years of pollution and neglect. We propose a comprehensive solution—a long-term environmental and health tax, incentives for purchasing eco-friendly local goods at our municipal market ‘Nikšić trgovinu’, and mandatory eco-packaging in all stores. Nikšić will gradually lead Montenegro in ecological initiatives. We will unite regardless of backgrounds and focus on our collective future, valuing hard work, honesty, and people over party affiliation. It’s time to unite for a shared future,” the statement emphasized.

They pledged to end the era of political patronage.

“We will implement a clear organizational structure, transparent recruitment processes, and equal opportunities. Employment will be based on skills and competencies, not party affiliation. Importantly, we refuse to collaborate with corrupt politicians. Our post-election discussions will occur publicly, in view of the media, ensuring transparency in the defense and protection of citizen interests,” declared “Work for My City.”

“Dear fellow citizens, our program is not merely aspirational—it’s a commitment we will realize together. It’s time to restore Nikšić to its people. We need fresh energy, integrity, and an open heart. Let’s work together for our city! Don’t wait for change, be the change—Nikšić can’t afford to wait another four years,” they concluded.
