Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić stated that those participating in the rally in Belgrade on Saturday, March 15, aim to incite a revolution, seize the Parliament, Radio Television of Serbia (RTS), and the Constitutional Court.
During a session of the main board of the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS), Vučić warned that anyone engaging in violent actions would face imprisonment.
“We will allow them to act for five or six minutes. They will be very daring. They will throw stones and use cannon fire. We will permit them to go to the Parliament and attempt to access everything, and then the state will assert its authority and we will bring the situation to a close,” the Serbian president declared.
According to him, no “normal and decent” individuals would attend the rally on March 15.
Students involved in the blockade have announced plans for a rally in Belgrade on Saturday, while academics and high school students from various cities have begun marching towards the Serbian capital to join the protest.
Announced “the largest rally in the history of Serbia”
Vučić has revealed that a gathering of his supporters is set for March 28 in Belgrade, with the formation of the Movement for the People and the State starting on March 21.
He claims it will be the largest assembly in Serbia’s history.
“We invite all workers, laborers, farmers, and honest citizens of Serbia to join the largest rally in our country’s history on March 28 in Belgrade. Everyone from across Serbia is welcome!” Vučić urged.
