“Sharks” Familiarize Themselves with Opponents’ Names for the Paris Games
A challenging draw was anticipated, and the consensus is that it couldn’t have been tougher for the Montenegrin water polo players at the Olympic Games.
The “Sharks” will compete in Group A in Paris, vying for a quarterfinal spot against Italy, Croatia, Romania, Greece, and the United States, as determined by tonight’s draw in Doha.
Group B will feature Spain, Hungary, Serbia, Australia, Japan, and France.
It’s noteworthy that Romania was included in the Olympic Games draw, despite earlier announcements suggesting they could take the spot of the South African representative from the Black Continent.
This indicates that Vladimir Gojković’s squad will secure their visa for the City of Light, after being eliminated by the Romanians in the round of 16 during the World Cup.
Montenegro was drawn from the sixth pot, where they were alongside France, and the water polo tournament at the Olympic Games is set to occur from July 28 to August 11.
This will mark the fifth appearance for our national team at the Olympic Games—having finished fourth in 2008, 2012, and 2016, and eighth in 2021.
