Primorje and Jadran Claim Early Wins in the Championship
Water polo teams Jadran and Primorje launched their campaigns in the Montenegrin Championship with impressive victories.
Jadran triumphed over Budva with a score of 17:6 in Herceg Novi.
Meldin Hadžić stood out in the winning side, netting four goals, while Strahinja Gojković contributed with three goals.
Tadija Matijašević was the standout player for Budva, scoring three goals.
Meanwhile, Primorac claimed a decisive victory in Kotor against their city rivals, the Qatar team, finishing 20:9.
Srđan Janović and Anatoli Jevdokušin were instrumental for the former European champions, each scoring four goals.
In the Qatar lineup, Ljubomir Kovačić, Draško Samardžić, and Dušan Milaš each found the back of the net twice.
The Montenegrin championship format features a home-and-away system. After six rounds of regular play, teams will compete for the trophy in the playoffs.
In the upcoming second round on March 2, Primorac will face Budva and Kataro will take on Jadran.
