The Montenegrin cadet water polo team concluded their participation in the Easter tournament held in Naples, securing a commendable second place.

The team’s notable achievement was highlighted by Andrej Durutović, who received the accolade of the tournament’s best player.

Under the guidance of coach Nenad Vukanić, the team achieved three remarkable victories but faced one defeat at the outset against the hosting team, Italy.

The young Italian squad triumphed with a score of 11:8 (3:1, 1:3, 3:1, 4:3), demonstrating stronger performance in the latter two quarters.

In that match, Durutović made a significant contribution by scoring four goals, while Danilo Roganović added two, and both Stefan Vraneš and Danilo Savović contributed one goal each.

The second match saw them dominate against Hungary, finishing with a score of 14:6 (2:1, 4:1, 6:2, and 2:2).

Stefan Vraneš stood out with six goals, and Matija Franeta along with Andrej Durutović netted two goals each. Additionally, Sava Stamatović, Danilo Savović, Danilo Roganović, and Andrija Aleksić each scored one goal.

The Montenegrin team also excelled in a match against Serbia, winning 15:11 (5:1, 3:2, 3:1, 4:7).

The initial three quarters were intense, with a score of 5:1 after the first eight minutes and 11:4 by the end of the third quarter. The Serbian team managed to reduce the margin in the final quarter.

In this matchup, Danilo Savović took the spotlight as the top scorer, netting five goals, while Danilo Roganović contributed three. Andrej Durutović scored two, and Stefan Vraneš, Dimitrije Milić, Danilo Darmanović, and Andrija Aleksić each scored one goal.

In their final match, they recorded a victory over Croatia, with a score of 9:6 (1:2, 3:2, 2:1, 3:1).

After three closely contested quarters, the Montenegrin cadets broke the resistance of their opponents in the final quarter, with goals from Andrej Durutović, Ljub Sijerković, and Sava Stamatović.

Danilo Savović scored one goal, Stefan Vraneš added two, and Danilo Roganović netted three goals.
