The Mediteran volleyball team has secured the EPCG First League of Montenegro championship title for the 2024/2025 season, earning a spot in the prestigious EPCG Super League once again.

Based in Budva, the team showcased exceptional performance throughout the season, concluding as the top team in the southern region during the regular season with only a single loss. In the mini-league of the First League, Mediteran achieved a perfect record of 10 victories, finishing with a notable win against Mornar at 3:1 (25:13, 23:25, 25:13, 25:19), the very same team that had previously handed them their only defeat of the year under coach Ćorluka.

Anastasija Kovačević put forth another stellar performance, accumulating 31 points in the match. Alongside Milica Obradović, who contributed 27 points, they propelled Mediteran to promotion – Mitra Gudelj also made an impact with 15 points. On the opposing side, Baranci’s Karolina Karavan scored 12 points while Natalija Daniljuk added 11.

The victory medals and the championship trophy of the First League were awarded by Ksenija Božović, the director of the women’s national teams for the Volleyball Federation of Montenegro. She also recognized the officiating team of referees – Jasna Rosić and Vladimir Perazić – for their fair management of the match.

Rudar took the second position and will vie for a shot at the Super League through a playoff match against the ninth-place team from the EPCG Super League – Jedinstvo. The first leg of the playoff is set for April 22nd in Pljevlja, with the return leg scheduled for a week later in Bijelo Polje.

In the 10th round on Thursday, teams Net and Rudar, as well as Tempo and Gorštak, will compete for the best possible standings position.
