“Buducnost, Sutjeska, and Mornar Triumph; Petrovac and Decic Settle for Draw”
The Montenegrin national team marked a significant moment as they triumphed in both matches following the early exit of Andrija Delibasic, a statement that resonated with the teams whose prolific scorer was part of their lineup.
Buducnost, with Delibasic as the sports director, clinched a 5:2 victory over Jedinstvo pod Goricam, overcoming an early deficit of 2-0 just minutes into the match.
Sutjeska, the club where Andrija began and concluded his career, celebrated a 2:1 win against Jezera, while Mornar, where Delibasic served as head coach, secured a 2:0 away win against Bokelj.
The Buducnost players and coaching staff honored him by wearing T-shirts bearing his image, and a tribute featuring his name and photo was displayed on the large scoreboard at Podgorica Stadium before kickoff.
Igor Ivanović and Petar Grbić, the most seasoned players in Buducnost, dedicated their goals to him, symbolizing that his memory will always be cherished.
With this victory, Buducnost extended their lead at the top to 14 points over Petrovac, who played to a goalless draw against Dečić at home.
A mathematical celebration of the title for the people of Podgorica is imminent.
Jedinstvo took an early 2-0 lead at Gorica, raising hopes that Buducnost might falter for the first time in independent Montenegro, after 30 matches and 25 defeats.
A Bosnian shot ricocheted off the post, deflected off Dragan Grivić’s foot into the net (own goal), followed by a header from Japanese player Komija that found the goal…
However, Buducnost turned the tide before halftime.
Igor Ivanovic scored with a header from a Vukovic cross in the 25th minute, followed by Marko Miličković’s effort from the edge of the box in the 34th minute, coupled with a misjudgment from the opposing goalkeeper, and a goal from Ivan Bojović at the far post in the 39th minute—Buducnost netted three goals in just 14 minutes.
Later, Petar Grbić capitalized on a return pass from Ivanovic, celebrating enthusiastically, mirroring the spirit of Andrija Delibasic. In stoppage time, Rus Serikov sealed the game with a fifth goal, making it 5:2.
Sutjeska continued their strong form, chalking up their fourth win in the last five games, climbing back to third place in the standings.
The standout performer in Nikšić during their 2:1 victory over Jezero was 20-year-old Dragan Miranović.
He opened the scoring for Milija Savović’s side in the 2nd minute; however, Jezera dominated the first half, equalizing through Ryu Wakabayashi.
Despite several dangerous counterattacks from Jezera, they left empty-handed. Miranović scored again in the 64th minute to clinch victory, after Nikola Janjić intercepted the ball from about forty meters out, setting him up for a well-placed left-footed shot into the net.
Despite the loss, Jezero remained in ninth place, as Otrant Olimpik also stumbled, falling 2:1 to Arsenal in Tivat.
Abdulsamed Abdulahi netted his ninth goal of the season in the 39th minute, putting Arsenal ahead, followed by a 59th-minute header from Nedjeljko Kovinić, giving them a comfortable 2:0 lead.
Jezero’s 16th loss of the season was somewhat softened by Balša Mrvaljević’s goal in injury time.
The derby between Petrovac and Dečić AdmiralBet ended in a stalemate (0:0), with the best chance missed by Ibrahima Endiaj, whose one-on-one opportunity was thwarted by goalkeeper Marko Kordić midway through the second half.
Mornar secured a 2:0 victory against Bokelj SBBet in Kotor, marking their second consecutive win.
In contrast, Bokelj’s crisis deepened, suffering their sixth straight defeat and failing to score in four consecutive matches. Their last win was on February 22nd against Jedinstvo (1:0).
Kotor saw plenty of chances: Čavor hit the crossbar early in the second half. Mornar took the lead in the 70th minute, with Sekulić scoring from a well-executed move orchestrated by Škrijelj.
Just three minutes later, Bokelj had a chance to equalize from the penalty spot, but Pepić’s attempt went wide, thanks to a superb reaction from Pavličić.
The final penalty came in the 86th minute, with Batrović capitalizing on an assist from Kiši to set the scoreline.
