Azerbaijanis Taken into Custody on Allegations of Plotting to Murder Fellow National in Budva

An Azerbaijani national, IB (57), along with his son, EB (23), was apprehended following an alleged knife attack on a fellow countryman last night, as reported by the Police Directorate.
“At approximately 20:30 p.m. yesterday, officers from the Budva Security Department received a report via the Duty Service about a male who required medical attention at the Budva Emergency Medical Service due to stab wounds to his abdomen and a broken arm, indicating that his life was at risk. Upon arriving at the HMP facility, police identified the victim as a 23-year-old Azerbaijani citizen,” the police notice stated.
According to the police, as soon as they were made aware of the situation, immediate actions were initiated to track down the suspects. They quickly located the site of the incident, which occurred at a shared private accommodation in the Lastva area.
While searching the vicinity of the crime scene, authorities discovered and confiscated a knife believed to have been used in the attack.
“In collaboration with the Higher State Prosecutor’s Office in Podgorica and following various investigative measures, the Azerbaijani suspects, IB (57) and EB (23), were identified. They are thought to have assaulted the victim with a sharp weapon—a knife—after a brief altercation before fleeing the scene.
“After gathering sufficient information, IB and EB were taken into custody on suspicion of attempted murder,” the police statement mentioned.
The suspects are scheduled to be presented to the Higher State Prosecutor’s Office in Podgorica for further legal action today.
