The Football Association of England has formally charged Milutin Osmajić with racism. The Montenegrin footballer must respond to these allegations by March 25th. Following the announcement, it is clear that his club intends to contest them.
Preston has stated that they are aware of the charges resulting from an investigation initiated after Hannibal Mezhbri accused our player of employing abusive and derogatory language.
“Milutin firmly denies the claims of using offensive language related to race or skin color and will provide a formal response to the FA’s allegations in due course,” the Deepdale club stated.
Preston emphasized that they would refrain from further comments until the matter is resolved.
In response to Mežbrij’s accusation, Osmajić released a statement firmly denying the charges.
“Despite our disagreements, I was taken aback that he would accuse me of racism, as it is unrelated to our misunderstanding. My behavior on and off the pitch, in which I interact and collaborate with individuals of diverse backgrounds, serves as evidence that I am not a racist,” Osmajić expressed at the time, among other comments.
The English FA did not indicate what penalties Osmajić could face should he be found guilty of the charges.
Osmajić has already faced a suspension this season, having been banned for eight games by the FA in October for an incident involving Blackburn’s Owen Beck.
