A quarter marked by a 10-point gap ended with a deficit of 12, nearly sealing the fate of SC Derby in their matchup against Cedevita Olimpija.

The “Students” managed to compete during the first period and the early stages of the second, facing off against a team vying for the top position in the AdmiralBet ABA League. However, they ultimately succumbed to a decisive loss, with a final score of 107:84.

Zoran Vučeljić made an incredible three-pointer from half court at the close of the first quarter, giving them a lead of 31:27. He then opened the second quarter with a shot from beyond the 6.75 line, extending the lead to 34:27. Igor Drobnjak followed suit with another three-pointer, marking the home team’s only double-digit lead of the match.

From that point, the “Dragons” began hitting long-range shots at a remarkable rate, erasing Derby’s earlier advantage.

By mid-second quarter, Montenegrin coach Zvezdan Mitrović’s team had turned the tide, and by halftime, they had accumulated an impressive score of 60-12.

A response from Petar Mijović’s squad was anticipated, yet the Slovenian team easily thwarted all attacks, controlling the game until the end.

This victory allowed Cedevita Olimpija to maintain their pursuit of fifth place ahead of the playoffs, while SC Derby remains safely positioned with a record of 10-17.
