Six Additional Officers Suspended for Involvement in Criminal Organization
Aligned with our clearly defined objective and directive to purify the security sector of individuals whose actions contravene the law and the state’s interests, we have taken another significant step towards establishing a system that rejects any compromises with crime, corruption, lifestyles that do not match declared income, or other illegal activities.
The Minister of the Interior has notified me that, following a recommendation from the Director of the Police Administration, a decision has been made to suspend six more police officers due to their participation in forming a criminal organization, posing security risks, and other severe violations.
However, this is just the beginning — we have merely scratched the surface.
A serious state engaged in combating organized crime does not make concessions with those charged with its protection but takes decisive action against it. Public confidence in institutions cannot be nurtured if the system itself hesitates to undertake internal reform.
Therefore, I urge all competent state authorities to continue their efforts with even greater resolve. To all honorable police officers, I extend my heartfelt gratitude.
You stand as the barrier between legality and lawlessness.
You exemplify that it is possible to serve the state without fear and to protect citizens without seeking personal gain.
Your uniform and the authority granted to you by law embody honor and integrity.
We will safeguard that honor — for Montenegro will no longer overlook anyone who has betrayed the law.
