The league’s two matches have set the stage for an exhilarating final series, confirmed by the very first title duel.

The Primorje water polo team triumphed over their fierce rival Jadran with a score of 9:6 in an away game, marking the beginning of what may be the most thrilling pursuit of the Montenegrin crown in the last nine years dominated by Novljani.

“Three goals may not seem like a substantial advantage, though it appears to be – we focus on finding fun ways to navigate situations in training. Water polo is a fantastic sport, and we aim to ensure that every player enjoys the game, not just the scorers,” said Primorje’s coach Vjekoslav Pasković after the match.

The match began on a high note for Kotor’s team; No less Vic and Djordje Stanojević quickly scored two goals. Pasković’s team led 3:1 until Jadran gained their first lead midway through the third period with a goal from Uroš Vučurović that made it 5:4.

“Primorac deserved their victory. After the second quarter, we struggled to find our rhythm and penetrate their zone. Many players were off their game, which Primorac capitalized on to secure the win,” commented Petar Radanović, head of the Adriatic department.

Primorac demonstrated their mental strength with a swift response; Vico and Stanojević regained the lead for Kotor (6:5) with additional goals, and even when Jadran posed a threat late in the match, Nikola Marković and Marko Mršić sealed the final score at 9:6.

In the end, both Vico and Stanojević finished with three goals each, while Mršić netted twice and Marković once.

Jadran’s scorers, who managed just two goals in the second half, included Dimitri Holod (three goals), Vučurović, Danilo Radović, and Matej Charaj (each with one).

Primorac is in the lead, with the next match set for May 7 in Kotor, followed by a game on the 11th back in Škver. The championship will be claimed by the first team to secure three victories, with possible fourth and fifth matches scheduled for May 15 and 18, respectively.
