Montenegrin Cadets Suffer Defeat Against Turkey

In the sixth round of the Mediterranean Championship held in Ankara, the Montenegrin cadet handball team lost to Turkey with a score of 22:19 (7:4, 8:6, 7:9).

This marks the third defeat for the Montenegrin handball squad, bringing their record to three wins and three losses.

The team, consisting of players born in 2006 and 2007, is coached by Filip Popović and Draško Mrvaljević. They managed to earn one point from a possible five in their match against Turkey.

So far, our team has secured victories against France, Tunisia, and Iraq, but has also faced defeats against Kosovo and Croatia.

Miroslav Dragović stood out in today’s game, scoring six goals, while Aleksa Knežević contributed three goals.

On Friday, Montenegro will face Romania in their final match of the group stage.

This performance at the Mediterranean Championship serves as an excellent preparation for the upcoming European Championship for players under 18, scheduled to take place in Podgorica in August.
