The Increase in Blockaded Companies in Montenegro

The Central Bank (CBG) has released an updated list of companies with blocked accounts, noting that one new addition exceeds the previous count.

This latest list, regulated monthly under the Law on Payment Act, includes approximately 20,630 companies recorded in the Central Register of Economic Entities (CRPS) and the CBCG.

Out of the total, 3,460 companies are recorded at CBM and do not appear in the CRPS, according to MINA AGENCY.

According to the Law on Payment, the CBG is required to publish data related to the forced collection process, which includes information about entrepreneurs, their identification numbers, blocked accounts, and the duration of these blocks.

The CBM clarified that the identification numbers for entrepreneurs are disclosed because they correspond to a unique parent number (JMB) in the Central Registry of Transaction Accounts of the Central Bank, the publication of which does not comply with the Law on Personal Data Protection.

The CBC updates this data monthly on their website on the first working day after the end of the month, documenting the situation as of the last day of the month and organizing it alphabetically by the companies’ names and entrepreneurs.

Since the CBM began publishing data in July 2012 until January 9, 2014, the information was shared based on the country of origin, indicating when accounts had been blocked for more than 30 days.
