“Lenče in Crisis: Roma’s Impressive Winning Streak”
Lecce and Nikola Krstović’s battle for survival in Serie A is becoming more challenging.
With each passing round, the situation worsens as the southern Italian team suffered their fifth consecutive defeat tonight, losing to Roma at “Via del Mare.” Despite this, they cling to hope of reaching a Champions League spot.
Only one goal was needed for “Vucica,” netted by Artyom Dovbik in the 80th minute due to a defensive mishap from the home side.
Krstović played the full match and almost scored a spectacular goal early in the second half when he spotted Roma goalkeeper Mile Svilar off his line, attempting to catch him off guard with a shot from nearly 40 meters away.
Unfortunately, his ambitious effort flew wide of the mark…
Currently, Lecce sits 16th in the standings, just three points ahead of Empoli, who are in the relegation zone after their draw with Como today (1:1).
On the other hand, Roma continued their impressive form, securing their seventh straight win and remaining four points behind Bologna, who sits in 4th place.
Bologna celebrated a 1-0 victory in Venice earlier today, courtesy of a goal from Riccardo Orsolini.
