British boxer Daniel Dubois and Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk are set to clash for the title of undisputed world heavyweight champion on July 19 at Wembley Stadium in London, according to a report by the BBC.
Currently, Dubois holds the International Boxing Federation (IBF) title, while Usyk is the reigning champion of the World Boxing Association (WBA), World Boxing Organization (WBO), and World Boxing Council (WBC).
Usyk remains undefeated in his 23 professional bouts and previously defeated Dubois in August 2023.
The Ukrainian made history as the first undisputed heavyweight champion in the four-belt era after overcoming Tyson Fury in May 2024.
Before a rematch with Fury in December, Usyk vacated the IBF title, allowing Dubois to claim it. Dubois successfully defended his title against Anthony Joshua in September of last year.
Dubois was initially slated to defend his belt again in February against Joseph Parker, but had to pull out due to illness.
“This is the fight I wanted and requested, and now I have my chance for revenge. I should have won the first bout, but the judges’ decision prevented that. I won’t make the same mistake again in front of my supporters at our national stadium. I’ve evolved into a stronger and more dangerous fighter, and Usyk will discover that,” Dubois stated.
The last British boxer to hold the undisputed championship was Lennox Lewis in 1999.
Usyk’s most recent fight was in December, where he triumphed over Fury for the second time.
“I’m thankful to God for this opportunity to fight for the undisputed title again. Thank you for keeping my title safe, Daniel; I want it back,” Usyk said.
