DPM Ivanović Holds Meeting with Manuel Sarrazin

Today, Deputy Prime Minister for Foreign and European Affairs Filip Ivanović held a meeting with the Special Envoy of the Federal Government of Germany for the Western Balkans, Manuel Sarrazin.

The discussions centered on important topics of shared interest, particularly focusing on the ongoing political developments in Montenegro, the European integration process, and the bilateral relations between both nations.

During the meeting, they examined the current parliamentary impasse, with Deputy Prime Minister Ivanović reiterating the Montenegrin Government’s dedication to resolving the situation through dialogue and an inclusive approach as soon as possible. He emphasized that institutional stability and the proper functioning of the legislative body are vital for advancing reforms, approving the national budget, and ensuring ongoing progress in the EU accession journey.

Sarrazin expressed his satisfaction with Montenegro’s progress towards EU membership, highlighting the successful reforms undertaken by the country. He also stressed the importance of constructive political dialogue and a stable institutional framework for the advancement of reforms consistent with European standards, while reaffirming Germany’s commitment to supporting Montenegro.

This visit marks Sarrazin’s seventh to Montenegro, underscoring the strong bilateral ties and the mutual dedication to the nation’s European trajectory.
