“I Was Absent During the Vote on Car Sales and Did Not Cast My Vote”

Muhamed Bučan, a former member of the Board of Directors of the Basketball Association of Montenegro (BAC), has responded to a statement issued by the BAC regarding the recent sale of official vehicles, claiming it was conducted in accordance with the Statute and Board directives.

According to a report by the PV portal, two official KSCG vehicles were sold at a loss—one to Dušan Dubljević, the brother of KSCG president Jelena Dubljević, and the other to the general secretary, Darko Ivanović. The report revealed that Dubljević acquired a “Škoda Superb” for €8,400, while Ivanović purchased a “Škoda Octavia” for €3,705. Additionally, the portal alleged that these transactions occurred without a formal decision from the Board of Directors, lacking professional appraisals, and without transparency in vehicle conditions or mileage, with offers reportedly submitted solely by Dubljević and Ivanović.

In response, KSCG maintained that the sales complied with the Statute and Board resolutions. They also mentioned that a licensed appraiser assessed both vehicles in March of this year, and that relevant sales documentation is preserved in the KSCG archives.

Following KSCG’s announcement, Bučan, who has since resigned from the Board of Directors, issued his own statements.

“To ensure the public is better informed about the scandal involving the KSCG, I feel it necessary to clarify my position as a former Board member. Specifically, I was not present nor did I cast a vote on the decision to sell the association’s cars on the day it was discussed. The Board is comprised of honorable individuals who I am certain did not approve this sale and were misled by the Secretary General and the Association’s President. I find it hard to believe that any Board member sanctioned an internal auction that allowed the President’s brother and the Secretary General to buy cars at such drastically reduced prices. It is also questionable whether there was a quorum when I departed the meeting. My departure from the KSCG Board was due to the lack of transparency from the Secretary General and President of the Association,” stated Muhamed Bučan in a reaction published by “Day.”
