In a crucial match, the Buducnost Voli basketball team ensured there were no surprises in the 28th round of the AdmiralBet ABA League.

The leaders of the regional tournament reinforced their previous victory over Partizan with a triumph over the struggling Krka, ultimately claiming their 25th win with a score of 99:91.

Buducnost’s performance in the first half was less than stellar, allowing 49 points (49:46), which frustrated coach Andrej Žakelj, visibly displeased during a timeout at the end of the second quarter.

Žakelj’s call for a stronger response was met as Budućnost emerged from halftime with renewed focus, delivering an impressive third quarter that left them comfortably ahead by 11 points (74:63) after 30 minutes of play.

During this pivotal stretch, McKinley Wright took charge, scoring eight points, supported by Mateo Drežnjak’s two three-pointers, while Nikola Tanasković and Rašid Sulajmon also contributed significantly, making the outcome all but certain.

Wright and Sulajmon led the scoring for Buducnost with 15 points each, while Tanasković and Džuvan Morgan added 13 points each. Kenan Kamenjaš and Yogi Ferrell chipped in with 11 points apiece, and Drežnjak contributed 10.

With one game in hand, Buducnost now sits two wins ahead of second-placed Partizan (and holds a superior head-to-head record), as Partizan prepares to host Red Star Belgrade on Monday.
