In a thrilling Bundesliga matchup, Leipzig triumphed over Borussia Dortmund with a score of 2-0 at home tonight during the 26th round of the league.
Xavi Simons opened the scoring for Leipzig in the 18th minute, later providing an assist for Lois Openda’s goal just after halftime in the 48th minute.
With this victory, Leipzig has snapped a four-match winless run, securing their 11th win of the season and lifting them to fifth place in the standings with 42 points.
Dortmund faced their second consecutive loss, bringing their total defeats in the league to 11, placing them at 11th position with 35 points.
Earlier in the day, Augsburg managed to beat Wolfsburg 1-0, while Mainz and Freiburg ended their match in a 2-2 draw. Union Berlin and Bayern also played to a 1-1 draw, and Borussia Monchengladbach secured a 4-2 win over Werder Bremen.
