“Interpol Has No Grounds to Issue Arrest Warrants for Me and Dodik”

The Speaker of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska (NSRS), Nenad Stevandić, announced today that there is no justification for Interpol to comply with the request from the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) to issue an international arrest warrant for him and RS President Milorad Dodik.
Stevandić noted that such a move would have significant implications for BiH, stating that the request from the Court of BiH “seems outrageous, as RS, alongside Serbia, is one of the few parties promoting peace.”
“We are the only ones who have maintained a stance free from war rhetoric, and we recognize the potential repercussions of such a request,” he conveyed during an interview with Belgrade’s K1 television.
He emphasized that he adheres strictly to the laws of the RS and the Constitution of the RS.
“We have not abandoned our responsibilities; we are individuals safeguarded by legal documents, the Constitution, and the laws of the RS. Conversely, there is a wave of hysteria in Sarajevo calling for our physical elimination, not just political,” stated Stevandić.
He remarked that Sarajevo “timed their request for the arrest warrant exceptionally well,” due to recent protests in Serbia complicating its political, economic, military, and other positions in the Balkans.
Yesterday, the Court of BiH requested Interpol to issue a red warrant for Dodik and the Speaker of the RS Parliament, Nenad Stevandić, over suspicions they committed the criminal offense of “attacking the constitutional order of BiH.”
This decision follows both men’s departure from BiH, bypassing the legally required border control processes.
