The Partizan basketball team lost to Bayern Munich in the 32nd round of the Euroleague with a score of 89:74, further diminishing their chances of securing a spot in the play-in tournament.
With only two rounds left, Željko Obradović’s squad holds a record of 16 wins and 10 losses. Even if they were to win their last games against Žalgiris away and Real at home, their fate for a minimum of the 10th position may still depend on other match outcomes.
The “Black and Whites” maintained the lead until the end of the third quarter, holding a 61:54 advantage. However, the Bavarians turned the tide with an 8:0 run, dominating the final period and outscoring the Belgrade team 24:11.
Bayern’s playmaker Edwards was outstanding, contributing 25 points, while Lucic and Obst added 11 points each, and Obst also netted 10 points. For Partizan, Karlik Jones led the scoring with 19 points, with Brown contributing 13.
Bayern currently holds the fifth position in the standings with a record of 19:13 and has secured a playoff spot, with the top six teams qualifying for the postseason.
Olympiacos faced its third consecutive defeat, following losses to Red Star and Lyon, with Monaco also marking their dominance against the leaders, winning 80:77 in Piraeus.
Barcelona bounced back from their home loss to Bayern and took a significant step towards the playoffs with a 98:85 victory over Armani in Milan, putting the “models” at risk of elimination.
Despite Nikola Mirotic’s impressive 26 points, Ettore Messina’s team could not prevail, while the Catalans were fueled by Brizuela’s 24 and Panter’s 23 points.
Zalgiris also faced a setback, losing 88:79 to Lyon away.
