The Freedom and Justice Party of Serbia has lodged a criminal complaint with the Belgrade Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime against “responsible officials appointed by the National Assembly, the President of Serbia, and the Government, as well as their accomplices” due to allegations of “the application of illegal sound weapons against peaceful citizens” during a protest in Belgrade on March 15th.

According to their statement, “By taking this action, the regime deliberately endangered the citizens, intending to incite chaos and harm, essentially committing an act of terror against its own populace. In the vicinity of Knez Miloševa and Kralja Milutin Street, while citizens were peacefully honoring victims, the regime ordered the deployment of weapons not sanctioned by any legislation in the Republic of Serbia. This violent action resulted in significant physical and psychological harm—damage to hearing, dizziness, panic, and fear. Both children and elderly individuals were present among those affected,” as reported by N1.

The statement also emphasized that “the use of sound weapons exemplifies abuse of official capacity, creates general danger, constitutes torture, and compromises citizen safety, representing violent conduct and an attempt to stifle the right to assemble.”

“Despite SNS official and MP Vladimir Đukanović’s immediate assertion that this was a sonic cannon and the government was under scrutiny, they subsequently began to weakly deny any wrongdoing, enlisting the head of the Belgrade Police Department, Nenad Stefanović, to defend the assailants and persecute the victims. This further highlights the absence of justice—only the regime’s terror prevails. The perpetrators will be held accountable by independent institutions and will be remembered in history as those who executed a disgraceful act of oppression against their own citizens,” stated the SSP.
