ESG Adria Summit Begins in Tivat

Beginning on Wednesday, April 9, the ESG Adria Summit – the largest event in the region focused on sustainability, investment, innovation, and economic development – will kick off in Porto Montenegro, Tivat.

Over three days, the summit will convene more than 700 attendees, featuring high-ranking officials, government representatives, business leaders, decision-makers, entrepreneurs, and members of international organizations from both the region and beyond. Attendees will have the chance to hear from over 140 internationally recognized speakers, representatives from more than 300 companies, and over 60 emerging leaders from the region, all presenting best practices in business and engaging in discussions on sustainable development, innovation, and the green transition.

Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Development Nik Gjeloshaj expressed that Montenegro is honored to facilitate this dialogue, stating, “Now more than ever, we see sustainability as not merely a concept – it embodies our reality, our duty, and the way forward.”

He further noted that ESG represents an actionable agenda rather than a mere wish list, highlighting that the government has made notable advancements in enhancing the institutional and economic framework in recent years.

“When we initiated the ESG Adria Summit three years ago, our vision was to foster a serious, action-oriented dialogue about the future of our region. Looking at the participation numbers, the depth of discussions, and the quality of exchanges today, it is evident that we have established something that transcends the conventional conference format,” said Biljana Braithwaite, CEO and Founding Partner at Sustineri Partners, the event’s organizer.

This marks the third consecutive year that Montenegro is hosting the ESG Adria Summit. According to Braithwaite, this year’s program will encompass a diverse range of subjects, including the geopolitical landscape and its influence on the region, the importance of legal certainty as a catalyst for economic growth and foreign investment, the energy transition, artificial intelligence, the future of work, sustainable tourism, and the role of youth in regional transformation.

“As a prominent destination along the Adriatic, our aim is to be at the forefront of ESG integration. Through this conference, we hope to connect with our partners and clients to exchange knowledge and experiences, further elevating our commitment to sustainable business. ESG has transcended the notion of being a future concept – it is now part of our present and a collective duty. We are tasked with leading in responsible resource management and the protection of our natural and social landscapes,” remarked Predrag Leković, Director of Government Affairs at Porto Montenegro.

Universal Capital Bank is proud to endorse the ESG Adria Summit, as we believe that sustainability, responsible business practices, and the green transition are pivotal to the economy’s future. As a financial institution, we recognize our significant role in fostering a sustainable society and acknowledge our responsibility to participate in this transformation. Additionally, Montenegro’s role as host sends a powerful signal to investors regarding its dedication to sustainable development, generating new opportunities for market expansion, investment attraction, and economic reinforcement, stated Miloš Pavlović, President of the Management Board at Universal Capital Bank, the Summit’s platinum partner.

The ESG Adria Summit is scheduled for April 9 to 11 in Tivat and is organized by Sustineri Partners and Porto Montenegro, in collaboration with the Government of Montenegro and under the auspices of the President of Montenegro.
