The unified workers’ union of the Post of Montenegro is organizing a protest in Podgorica on Tuesday, March 11, in front of the company’s administrative building located on Slobode Street, starting at 11 AM.
They are calling for the reversal of the dismissal of the union’s vice president, Jugoslav Marković.
The purpose of this public protest is to show support for colleague Jugoslav Marković, whose employment was terminated by the Employer’s decision, citing an alleged severe violation of work duties. This action is unprecedented in the history of AD Pošta Crne Gore since no employee has ever been dismissed for such reasons. The union considers this action by management to be retaliatory in nature due to Marković’s active involvement in the strike carried out by the representative Unified Trade Union of Employees of the Post of Montenegro from October 2 to October 10, 2023. Moreover, management has disregarded all written communications from the Unified Trade Union. Through this protest, participants demand the annulment of the decision to terminate Marković’s contract and an end to the anti-union practices by management against the union members,” the protest notification states.
