“Vučice” Battle for the Trophy Against Celje as Buducnost Bemax Dominates Montana

The Buducnost Bemaks women’s basketball team is set to compete in the WABA league finals tomorrow at 5 PM. The “Vučice” secured their place after defeating Bulgarian team Montana with a score of 83:78 (24:25, 19:17, 22:16, 18:20) in the first semi-final held in Celje.
In their two previous meetings this season, Petar Stojanović’s squad had the upper hand over Montana, who nonetheless showed impressive resilience today.
At the outset of the final quarter, Buducnost established an 11-point lead and, with strategic gameplay, advanced to the finals for a chance at the trophy against Celje at 5 PM.
Zorana Radonjić led Buducnost with an impressive 20 points, while Jelena Bulajić contributed 19 points. Jovana Savković and Katherine Briggs each added 12 points. Tess Amundsen also had a solid performance, recording seven points and nine rebounds.
Kiana Johnson was Montana’s standout player with 31 points, complemented by Danielle Whalen’s 15 points.
Buducnost aims to claim their fourth regional trophy tomorrow against the defending champions, Cinkarna Celje, who triumphed over Bulgarian Beroe (76:61).
The “Vučice” previously claimed championship titles in 2016, 2018, and 2020.
