Boost Child Benefits by 50% in Response to Rising Costs and Inflation

The civic movement URA is advocating for a 50 percent increase in child benefits due to the rising cost of living and inflation, as stated by the head of the URA parliamentary group, Miloš Konatar.

The GP URA’s proposal aims to raise the monthly child allowance: from 30 euros to 45 euros for the basic allowance; from 44 euros to 66 euros for recipients of material assistance; and for children without parental care and those receiving personal disability allowances, from 60 euros to 90 euros, explained the party’s MP.

Konatar emphasized that URA was instrumental in the reintroduction of child allowances in Montenegro back in 2021. Since then, the increase in prices and inflation has significantly diminished the value of these allowances, making a strong case for their increase.

“We anticipate support from all Parliament members so that children in Montenegro and their families receive what they are entitled to,” concluded Konatar.
