“Budva Volleyball Team Secures Sixth Consecutive Montenegrin Cup Title in Spectacular Fashion”
The volleyball team from Budva has clinched the Montenegrin Cup title for the sixth consecutive time.
In a thrilling final held at the bustling Mediterranean Sports Center in Budva, the home team faced their first set loss of the season. Nevertheless, the outcome was clear—Miljan Bošković’s squad triumphed over Budućnost Volley with a score of 3:1 (25:23, 25:17, 31:33, 25:21).
The match delivered an exciting performance within the impressive surroundings of the Mediterranean Sports Center. Despite the “home” team taking a 2:0 lead in sets, Budućnost, missing key player Ivan Zvicer, put up a formidable challenge to the champions, almost turning the tide of the match and making it hard-fought.
The highlight was the third set, which nearly stretched to 33 minutes. The victor of this set was fought over fiercely, culminating in a tight battle where a remarkable 64 points were contested. Ultimately, Dejan Radić’s team secured the set with a score of 33:31, prolonging the match into the fourth set.
The fourth set remained competitive, beginning with Budućnost leading 3:0 and later holding a 9:5 advantage. However, Budva fought back, asserting control with a score of 19:15. With Budućnost trailing just a point (22:21), Budva’s stellar performance, particularly from Vasilije Milenković and his teammates, sealed their sixth Montenegrin Cup title.
The captain of the winning team, Balša Radunović, stood out with 23 points, while young talent Vasilije Milenković contributed significantly with 18 points. Luka Babić added 11 points to the tally. For Budućnost, the standout player was young Luka Lojić, who scored 19 points, with Aleksa Nikolić netting 11 points, alongside Filip Mašković and Adnan Silajdžić, who both scored 10 points each.
