Milorad Dodik, the President of the Bosnian entity of Republika Srpska (RS), urged US President Donald Trump and Vice President James David Vance in an interview with “American Conservative” magazine to prevent any NATO intervention in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) and to aid in overturning the “illegitimate and undemocratic decisions imposed by the Joseph Biden administration.”

“Our desire is for peace, not war. We wish to advocate for our human rights through democratic channels. Our aim is to restore the original interpretation of the Dayton Peace Agreement. Please assist us in reversing all illegitimate and undemocratic decisions placed upon us by President Joseph Biden’s administration,” Dodik remarked.

As reported by the Banja Luka portal Srpskainfo, he noted that “Trump and Vance could play a crucial role in ensuring adherence to the Dayton Peace Agreement.”

“If a consensus cannot be achieved with Bosnian Muslims, there is no reason why all three communities—Croats, Muslims, and Serbs—cannot initiate a peaceful, non-violent dialogue on separating Bosnia and Herzegovina,” Dodik stated.

He expressed his willingness and enthusiasm to engage with the new administration to discuss the various challenges BiH faces and its future direction.

Dodik reiterated that Bosniaks in BiH are attempting to “impose their rule on the Christian majority in the country,” and assessed that “the conflicting messages from the US administration and criticism of its recent actions stem from deep state bureaucrats.”

He criticized the remarks from US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who stated that Dodik was undermining BiH’s institutions, as being “one-sided and solely supportive of the Muslim perspective.”

“I do not criticize him; rather, I extend an invitation for dialogue. I want him to consider all three perspectives, not just that of the Muslims in BiH, who are trying to assert their dominance over the Christian majority in the nation,” Dodik explained.

Recently, the RS government enacted several laws that have been invalidated by the Constitutional Court of BiH, as they were deemed an infringement on the constitutional order of the state.
