Milojko Spajić, Prime Minister and President of the Europe Now Movement, emphasized that every demonstration of consensus is important in a divided Montenegro.
He shared a photo of the agreement he signed with some opposition members just three days ago.
“Montenegro is advancing even more swiftly towards EU membership! We acknowledge that there has been an unwarranted delay; however, the opposition’s choice to regard European institutions as allies and Barometer 26 is commendable. The Agreement clearly stipulates how the Venice Commission should be consulted regarding the termination of the Constitutional Court judges’ mandates. Every instance of consensus in a divided Montenegro carries significance! Thank you for all your efforts; let’s progress together,” Spajić expressed on Iks.
During a meeting at the Delegation of the European Union in Montenegro, convened by Ambassador Johan Sattler, Spajić along with opposition leaders Danijel Živković (DPS), Damir Šehović (European Union), and Adrijan Vuksanović (HGI), reached an agreement to request an opinion from the Venice Commission within seven days of the agreement. This pertains to the process of resolving the termination of Constitutional Court judge Dragana Đuranović’s mandate, which has sparked a political crisis in Montenegro.
