SC Derbi celebrated its 10th victory in the AdmiralBet ABA League, triumphing over Igokea 111:109 after a thrilling overtime match, marking their third consecutive win in the regional tournament.

The victory was forged through an intense battle, largely thanks to the outstanding performance from Erik Neal and Luka Bogavac, who collectively netted 50 points and sank 12 three-pointers.

Neal led the scoring with 26 points, while Bogavac trailed closely behind with 24 points, keeping hope alive for the “students” to make the ABA League playoffs…

Under the guidance of coach Petar Mijović, the team held a 10-point (52:42) advantage at halftime, having pushed the lead to 14 points during the third quarter. However, Igokea’s resurgence in the final stretch was anticipated.

Point guard Bryce Jones emerged for Igokea, scoring from nearly every location on the court. With 79 seconds remaining, the visitors took a 95:91 lead.

Igor Drobnjak hit a three-pointer to bring it within one point, Emir Hadžibegović followed up to score, making it 96:95, before Bogavac converted a free throw for a 98:95 lead with just seven seconds left.

However, after an Igokea timeout, Bogavac was called for a technical foul for interfering with an opponent’s inbound play. Jones subsequently brought the score down to 98:96, and Nikola Marić managed a last-second equalizer.

Entering the five-minute overtime, SC Derbi maintained their composure. Key three-pointers from Hadžibegović and Bogavac made the difference, with crucial free throws from Nil and Zoran Nikolić sealing the win.

Nikolić contributed significantly with 22 points and 13 rebounds, while Hadžibegović added 15 points and David Mirković chipped in 10 points.
