Bayern took advantage of the losses of the contenders in the 25th round of the Bundesliga, even after their own defeat to Bochum at the Allianz Arena with a score of 3:2. First-placed Bayer Leverkusen also fell to Werder Bremen, losing 2:0, allowing the Bavarians to keep their eight-point lead and inch closer to the Salatara.
Borussia Dortmund also faced a setback with a 1-0 loss to Augsburg, while two other matches ended in draws – Hochstein Kiel drawing 2-2 at home against Stuttgart, and Wolfsburg ending 1-1 with St. Pauli.
Bayern initially led the match 2:0, thanks to goals from Portuguese player Guerreiro by the 28th minute, with Gnabry missing a penalty in the 22nd minute.
Croatian Jakov Medić reduced the deficit in the 31st minute, but Palhinja was shown a red card just before halftime, allowing the visitors to capitalize and completely reverse the situation with goals from Sisok and Ber.
Bayer experienced only their second defeat of the season, with the “greens” scoring through Šmid in the 7th minute and Nimah in the fourth minute of stoppage time.
The “Millionaires” suffered a loss due to a goal from Dutch player Jeffrey Gouveleu in the 23rd minute.
