Montenegro to Host Two European Championships Next Year

Next year, Montenegro is set to host two European championships for players aged 17 and 19, as announced by the European Handball Federation.

This will mark the first instance where a single nation organizes two European championships in junior categories within the same year.

“The Federation submitted its application promptly, and the EHF has confirmed that the European championships for female players under 17 and 19 will take place in Montenegro next year,” stated the Handball Federation.

The European Championship for the under-19 category is scheduled for July, followed by the competition for the continent’s best players aged up to 17 years in August.

“The statistics speak volumes, validating the organizational capabilities of the Handball Association as recognized by the EHF. The European Championship for players under 7 years of age will occur in Podgorica from August 18 to 18 this year, featuring 24 national teams,” the announcement elaborates.

It is noted that 2025 will be the fifth consecutive year that the RSCG organizes European championships in junior categories.

“Championships for younger age groups carry not only sporting significance but also national importance, and the Association will strive to meet the expectations set by the EHF, just as it has in the past,” the RSCG press release affirms.
