“We Commemorate and Mourn”
The tragic incident involving students Vukan and John at the elementary school Lovćenski Partisan Squad has brought grief, following the violent actions of Aca Martinović, which claimed 12 lives and left four others severely injured.
– From now on, no school vacation will feel the same. Two empty seats in the classroom serve as a somber reminder, while the heavens have gained two new angels – Jovana and Vukan. We remember them in silence and sorrow, as stated in the school’s Facebook publication.
In solidarity with Montenegro’s government, which has declared a three-day period of mourning, President Aleksandar Vučić proposed a day of mourning in Serbia, while Republika Srpska recognized a day of remembrance due to the massacre.
Light for the victims
Throughout Montenegro, citizens took to the streets to light candles in memory of the victims, including the fallen residents of Cetinje and Martinović’s sister among the deceased.
