The situation is dire as SC Derby’s basketball team continues its losing streak, suffering yet another defeat in their latest match of 2024.

The “Students” faced their sixth consecutive loss against Mega, with a final score of 82:77. After 14 rounds in the AdmiralBet ABA League, they have managed to secure only four victories, the most recent being on November 11 against Mornar at “Morača”.

In the same venue, Mega secured their win due to a significant boost in energy during the second half. Even though Petr Mijović’s team led by seven points (51:44) early in the third quarter and had a chance to extend their advantage to double digits, they faltered.

Starting from that point, Derbi ceased its offensive efforts and began to rely on individual plays. As their defensive aggressiveness waned, it became evident that the visiting team from Belgrade had seized the momentum to turn the game around.

After 30 minutes, SC Derbi trailed by just one point, but in the final quarter, they allowed multiple offensive rebounds to their opponents, leaving them with little hope of reversing the trend of losses.

In the last attempt for a comeback, with a minute and 38 seconds left, Eric Neal hit a three-pointer to narrow the score to 78:75. However, in the following possession, Mega managed three offensive rebounds before Mihailo Petrović scored to make it 80:75…
