Youth Water Polo Athletes Reach World Championship Semifinals
The Montenegro U18 water polo national team has advanced to the semifinals of the World Championship taking place in Buenos Aires.
Under the guidance of Miodrag Mirović, the team triumphed over Croatia with a score of 14:9 (2:3, 4:2, 3:2, 5:2) during the quarter-finals held late Sunday night, and they are set to face Serbia tonight at midnight for a chance to compete in the final.
In their quarter-final match, Serbia outperformed Spain with a close score of 17:16.
Montenegro started the game on a weak note, falling behind 3:0. However, from the midpoint of the second quarter, they gained control and expertly secured their spot among the world’s top four teams.

Leading the scoring for our team was Srđan Janović with four goals, followed by Draško Samardžić with three goals, and Danilo Stupar contributing two.
One goal each was added by Ognjen Moračanin, Andrija Roganović, Nikola Petrović, Tim Perov, and Strahinja Gojković, while goalkeeper Marko Pejović also made significant contributions.
In the other semifinal, Hungary will face Italy.
