Ibrahimović Welcomes Newly Appointed Ambassadors from Latvia and Côte d’Ivoire
The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro, Mr. Ervin Ibrahimović, held separate meetings today with the newly appointed Ambassadors of the Republic of Latvia to Montenegro, Juris Pogrebņaks, and the Ambassador of Côte d’Ivoire, Nogozene Bakayoko.
During the meeting with the Ambassador from Latvia, the Minister expressed his satisfaction with the friendly and allied relations between the two nations. He congratulated the Ambassador on his new role, expressing confidence that his efforts will enhance political dialogue and overall bilateral relations.
They discussed the significance of the European Union’s enlargement process for the region’s stability and prosperity, highlighting Montenegro’s progress on its EU integration path. The role of Montenegro as a leader in EU integration within the region was emphasized, along with Latvia’s strong support for ongoing reform processes.
The participants committed to further enhancing economic cooperation, particularly in renewable energy investment opportunities.
Regarding current geopolitical challenges, they underscored the importance of a strong alliance within NATO and a unified approach among all nations upholding democratic values, contributing to global peace and security.
In discussions with Ambassador Bakayoko of Côte d’Ivoire, the Minister welcomed her and wished her a productive mandate, noting the potential for advancing political dialogue between their nations.
The participants confirmed their willingness to establish more dynamic bilateral cooperation across various areas of mutual interest, particularly in culture and tourism, while also emphasizing the importance of collaborative efforts at the multilateral level.
