The development of the Law on Navigation Safety, aimed at addressing various challenges within the maritime sector, is approaching its final stages, as stated by Minister of Maritime Affairs Filip Radulović in a meeting with members of the Montenegrin Captains’ Association.
The Ministry has reported that the meeting focused on significant issues in the maritime sector and explored potential solutions.
“During our discussion, we highlighted the necessity to amend existing legal frameworks to enhance the conditions for seafarers, boost safety in maritime transport, and further elevate the competitiveness of the local maritime industry,” the statement indicated.
Radulović expressed the Ministry’s commitment to collaborating closely with professional associations and experts, stressing the significance of open dialogue to tackle long-standing issues.
Representatives from the Captains’ Association expressed their satisfaction with the initiatives that have been introduced and put forward specific recommendations that could enhance regulations and practices within the sector.
